Documents associated with a Project Action can be uploaded and stored in the AID-Project system. Documents are files of any type (word-processing or PDF files, spreadsheets, paper documents scanned as graphics, any file) that are uploaded and stored with a Project Action. These Associated Documents are valuable project assets and managing them inside the work plan itself makes them easy to locate and available to project personnel anywhere in the world.
Large projects have lots of inputs and produce a lot of outputs. Often these inputs and outputs are in the form of electronic documents. All too often, with project staff located in different parts of the world — or even in different parts of a building — it can be difficult to find the latest version of a report, deliverable, contract, or other file. AID-Project incorporates document management — you guessed it — right into the work plan. So everyone has access to the same document at the same time, no matter where they are.
The AID-Project reporting application can produce reports showing the documents in your system. When this report is converted to a MS-Word document, the document names become links back to the document files online.
This makes it possible — even easy — for managers to monitor project documents: verify that deliverables have been submitted, check for approvals, etc.
